Gear(s) for hair.. Hey, I made it rhyme! Well, almost..

Here's a card that I made for Hobbykunst a while back, for their Tim Holtz wall..

I thought it would be cool to give this gorgeous classical face a contrast, and came up with using gears for hair..

Detail:
The gears are made from grungeboard, embossed with Distress Embossing powder Vintage Photo and inked with Distress Ink Rusty Hinge to give the rusty effect.

Dies used are Tim Holtz Alterations Gadget Gears (Bigz) and Gears (movers and shapers).
Stamp is from Tim's set Classics no 5.
Cardstock from Core 'dinations.

Thanks for stopping by my place!

Creative Chemistry 102 - Day 4

Hello, lovelies!
Let me just start by saying; YES, I know I've skipped Day 2 and 3. I'll get back to those when I have the time.. I'm way behind, so it doesn't really matter which day I complete first.. Today I really wanted to play with alcohol inks, so there you have it - Day 4 in CC102 became my day 2..

Anywaaaaaaaaaaaay.... Here are my tags!

Close ups..
 Faux Patina Technique

 Tinted Tinsel Technique

Ombre Technique

  Monoprint Technique

 Faded Layers Technique

This day's lesson has reminded me that I must play with alcohol inks more often!!!
Thanks!

European Scrap Challenge - Mixed Media part 2

The task in round 2 of European Scrap Challenge was to use only one word. A word that described why we like having this hobby.
For my mixed media piece, I decided on the word DREAM. I wanted to use this word because playing in my journal really gives me peace of mind and lets my thoughts and dreams wander..

Here's the spread I did in my gorgeous journal
(a ledger from the 60s - I love it!):

I've used Golden fluid acrylics Teal and Cadimum Yellow  + Dylusions Squeezed Orange to the background. The right hand circles are made from an empty kitchen roll (I used Distress Paint Black Soot). The circles on the left are coloured with Dylusions Squeezed Orange and Lemon Zest and cut out from a telephone book. I've circled them with my Sharpie and sewn around it on the sewing machine (not very easy when the paper is thin..).
The star and figure stamp are from Dina Wakley, while the letters are Tim Holtz foam stamps.
I've also used TH tissue tape, bubble wrap and modeling paste...

Circles close up

The tag is coloured the new Dylusions pad inked up with Squeezed Orange, Bubblegum Pink and Lemon Zest. The stamp is from Tim Holtz / Stampers Anonymous.

It was so much fun doing this spread! And, I made it to the next round! How cool is that?!

Tag inspired by Tim Holtz

I don't know why I haven't published this tag before, it's ages since I made it! Anyway.. It's inspired by a tag TH made. Maybe it was one of the 2013 tags, I don't remember!! Lol! That's what vacation does to you...

Except the stamp used on the seam binding (which is from Prima), all of the products used on this tag is from Tim. Stamps, inks, embossing folder, dies and embellishments.. Can't get enough of his products!

Happy Friday!

Another wedding card

I'm finally set in my new crafting space - up in the garage attic! Yeeeey!
This is the first card I made up here in my "room with a view"..

Summer means weddings, and here is another wedding card from me:

I've used a lot of the same elements as the last card, even the same picture.
..That's what you do when you find something that you like.. lol!
This time I made it in purple, though.

Here's the inside:

Have a great week, and thanks for popping by!

Wedding card

A friend of my mother in law is getting married this summer, so I offered to make a card she could give them. I decided to make a card of one of the June tags I made earlier.
Here's the result!

Gift bag Tim Holtz style

I made this gift bag for my brother in law who had his birthday earlier this week. I figured that a boring present (two Björn Borg boxers and some chocolate) needed a not so boring wrapping...!

Dylusions card

Pondering Petunia is such a lovely figure, so I've used her on this card too.. This card is for one of the employees at my oldest' kindergarten, who unfortunately is leaving to work somewhere else.

Blog makeover

Ok, so I've decided to start blogging in English, for obvious reasons I'll come back to later... I've also given my blog a makeover, with a new background and a new name. And, as you can see at the top, I've finally created a header for my little place in cyber space..

12 tags of 2012 - March

Tim Holtz has started a new tradition this year - the 12 tags of 2012. Each month he'll show us a new tag which will inspire us to make our own.. This month he came out with a simple, but wonderful tag and introduced us to a new technique - mosaic. Check out his tag here!
