Dyan, Tim and Dina - all in one year!

So, I know I’ve been away for a long time.. But I have been keeping busy. During this last year I’ve been fortunate enough to meet and take classes with all of my favourite designers from Ranger.

I feel so blessed to have met all these lovely and taken people all in one year! I’ll see Dyan again this summer (yay!) and I hope that I’ll be able to see the others too, in the future!

Tim Holtz meets Dylusions - a birthday tag

Here's a tag I made the other day for my brother in law.

Let's start with the background..

I've used the Dylusions ink sprays White Linen, London Blue, Calypso Teal, After Midnight and Cut Grass. Ghosting and spraying throught stencils gave the background some layers...

The circles are made with a lid from one of the sprays and white paint.

The star stamps are from Dina Wakley, and I've outlined the bottom corner one with my white Sharpie paint pen.

 I stamped "Dream" on the tag, and outlined it with my Sharpie.

 This gorgeous stamp from Tim Holtz is coloured with Dylusions inks in waterbrushes and outlined with my Sharpie.

 

The back of the tag. The circles are from Tim Holtz. I've sown the bottom with my sewing machine.

The seam binding is coloured with variuos Dylusions inks and Distress Stains.

A weekend with Dyan Reaveley

The last weekend this June I was fortunate enough to attend a weekend workshop with her majesty Dyan Reaveley at Art From The Heart. The workshop was called "Homemade books and journals".

Here's my little recap..

Friday I left for Manchester Airport from Oslo-Gardermoen via Sola-Stavanger.

 The flights were pleasant, but when I went to collect my luggage at Manchester, my suitcase was missing. It turned out it was still at Stavanger.. Typical, just my luck! Oh well...

From Manchester Airport I went by train to Leeds and from there to Harrogate. Finally, after ten hours of travelling, I was there!!

About 45 minutes after arriving, I got a taxi (missed the train - typical!) to Art From The Heart. I was super excited!!!!!

 Yaaaayyyy!!! I'm in the Queen's palace!!!

On Saturday, my luggage had arrived the hotel, and I finally had my journaling stuff at hand. So after having dinner with a couple of really lovely ladies, I went to my very own studio - lol!

 There was of course a desk in my bedroom, but the lighting there was rubbish. So the bathroom was the next best thing! If there's a will, there's a way... lol

 There's nothing like journaling in your PJs!!

 And here's as far as I got with the page. Love the colours!!!

Of course, when you're at AFTH, some shopping is manditory... lol! Here's what I got:

I also had time for about 15 minutes of shopping in town as well.. Love the bracelets I got for myself!

While waiting for various trains and planes on my way home to Norway, I had time to finish two pages in my smallest journal. I absolutely love the stamps from Stampotique! They're really hard to get in Norway, so I stamped away as much as I could when I borrowed Dyan's.. hehe...

So that was my weekend at Art From The Heart. I must say, Dyan really impresses me. She is a wonderful artist, a loving mother and such a wonderful person! I loved being at her studio - the atmosphere was so relaxed and natural - not "stiff" like it sometimes tends to be at workshops back home.

I sure hope Dyan will arrange another weekend workshop, or workshops in two-three days in a row next summer as well! If so, I will be there!!!!! :)

Dylusions mask #2

My second Dylusions mask was finished a while back, I just haven't had the time to put it up on the blog until now.

This one is quite different from the first one, with less dimension.. This time I went for a spider theme..

 Both skull and bird have been embossed

 

Glossy Accents is added to give spiders dimension

 

 

This sleeping beauty is having "sweet" dreams about spiders... She is coloured with Dylusions inks in water brushes, and her body is embossed with clear embossing powder. The lips have got Glossy Accents on them, and I used orange Stickles to bling up the eye lashes a bit.

That's my second and last Dylusions mask, folks! What a fun project to make!

SGC Challenge 64 ~ Tag you're it; step by step instructions

I loooove making tags! Therefore I am so excited to announce that in this fortnight's challenge over at the Southern Girls we would like you to show us something with tags. Yaaaay! He he..

This time I have made a tag using Dylusions and a couple of gorgeous stamps from one of our sponsors, Stampotique Originals, called Gooseneck and Bla bla bla. They have plenty of awesome images on their website - why not head on over and take a look?!

Tim Holtz inspired card

Just a quick post on the card I made tonight, much inspired by his royal craftsman Tim Holtz.

Tim Holtz and Dyan Reaveley demo at Bikuben, Norway

On Friday Feb 24 I was in every papercrafter's heaven. Tim Holtz and Dyan Reaveley were demoing at Bikuben, Norway's best papercrafting store (in my opinion), and I was there!!!

We were a group of 60 people who were divided into two. First I saw Dyan. Wow - isn't she just amazing?! Such vibrant, gorgeous colors, and WHAT an art journal!! So cool! She really made me feel like picking up my own art journal again, which I started a few months ago, but which still has only one page finished.. She is so talented, and so funny! It was great, even after seven hours of demoing that day, she was still energetic and made jokes and showed us loads of good stuff.
